Nana Akufo has traveled to United Kingdom

Nana Akufo has traveled to United Kingdom for the scheduled activities including his regular medical checkup.

The candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Presidential Elections in 2012 Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has gone to the United Kingdom on Teusday after the day’s proceedings in Supreme Court where he and two others, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, his running mate in the elections and Chairman of the Party Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey have appealed against the result of the polls.

In a statement issued by his press assistant, Herbert Krapa, said Nana Addo with his wife, Rebecca travelled ‘for scheduled engagements including his regular medical checkup’.

They said this was the reason why he was not seen in the court yesterday during proceedings.

His absence in the court gave his political opponents a chance for making various assumptions.

He is expected to stay in the United Kingdom for a week.

However, Nana Addo was said to have selected party stalwart Hackman Owusu Agyemang to stand in for him in court until he returns.
